That was a particularly bad idea.

Some horrifically overdue updates
Mar 1st
It’s been several months now since I last said anything noteworthy (bar expressing my disgust at the science funding crisis) and it’s probably time that I wrote something. Thanks to AppleCare my ageing iBook miraculously changed into a macbook before Christmas by virtue of some faulty bluetooth chip, my mac mini has since transformed into a powerhouse of an Intel Quad 2 machine running Fedora 8, by virtue of Christmas and has now got two monitors (running fairly happily under compiz, which is as the internet leads me to believe; is a complete miracle or the norm- depending on who you ask). I am currently in the first year of my A level course studying Physics, Chemistry and Math/Further Math and have just taken my first set of module exams back in January and am expecting results imminently, and am just at the stage of looking at Unis and courses. Any University propaganda is welcomed heartily, especially if it discusses the merits of a Computer Science and Physics joint honours course or either of the two as single honours.
I expect to be posting reactions to my AS module 1 grades, the Asia concert tomorrow night and the hopefully upcoming Jonathan Coulton concert sometime this month.
And my driving test. >_< So until then,
Alex.
In other news, Kristopher Tate is rolling out another Zooomr update on Monday, which should be fairly awesome, and should see some concert photos from me.
New Version (coming soon) and other miscellaneous updates!
Jun 16th
Here’s a preview of what’s soon going to be the new look of themak.org:

All critisism welcome for the new design.
The new theme is also going to mark a whole new version of themak.org, the move from the brilliant PALGN free hosting to an ASO shared hosting plan where I will also move this blog from WordPress to a hand made django weblog platform.
I now only have 4 exams left until I’ve finished with my GCSEs, and I feel fairly confident about how I’ve done (which is good) and I’m now only a few short days away from purchasing my guitar and hosting package.
Statist for OSX
Mar 17th
Of immeasurable value.
In other news: Statistics coursework looking less like a 50 tonne weight descending on me. Normal updates resume other end of the tunnel.
SCHEDULED DOWNTIME
Jan 23rd
themak.org will be down between 19:30 and 21:30 GMT because of a software update to k2 and wordpress.
Site updates-
Aug 22nd
Switched themak.org to k2.
Will be custom building an inverted scheme soon, and enabling some fun features.
Nearly finished inverted theme, just have to tweak display of PNG files in IE and make a cool new slider image.
Also MAC OSX overshadows microsoft totally in the sidebar in IE, quite apt.
Heads up, congratulations and Mario

Courtesy of my good friend Chris comes hit new games blog- younewb which is definitely worth a read.
Also congrats to Tim, who won the IT prize- quite deservedly I might add. Thirdly and finally- I’ve just got ahold of NSMB and apart from the nasty spine art that plagues EU DS games, it’s a wonderful game and makes me wonder why there are so many second rate DS-titles when Nintendo shows just how much better it can be done.
Site theme upgrade
Jun 26th
themak.org will be non-functional for an hour or so while I update Binary Blue to 1.3.
Also the comments are being moved back to wordpress which will take a while, and the dates will be wrong.
Updates to site- and sxore
Apr 14th
I’ve been updating the site and added some features such as those syndication buttons and updating the sxore plugin.
Now sxore is quite an interesting beast, I first heard about sxip when looking through the firefox roadmaps to see it’s potential to tempt me back
but I read a comment which linked to this quite amazing presentation which I found really interesting so I signed up for sxore within 10 minutes. After watching another highly energetic and interesting presentation.
Got a domain name!
Apr 11th
Finally took the plunge and bought a domain name from godaddy, now I just have to wait for DNS to refresh until this site is themak.org!
